About the museum
The Estonian Police Museum in Rakvere introduces visitors to the work of the police and gives them knowledge on how to increase their own safety and that of their loved ones. The museum conveys the police’s main safety messages and values, such as humanity, cooperation, safety, professionalism, reliability, openness and integrity.
The museum collects and preserves the historic heritage of the police. In 2021 the permanent exhibition was expanded with the section “Ajalugu vormides” (History in Uniform), presenting police uniforms from the 1920s–1940s to the present day, including the rare red uniform that was used for a short time in the early 1990s. The museum also includes a forensic laboratory programme, outdoor attractions, a play room for children in the police museum, and shooting exercises in the Special Unit building.
