About the museum
Ålands Brandkårsmuseum is run by the association Ålands Brandkårsmuseum r.f., which is responsible for storing and maintaining the collection. The museum moved to Emkarby after a donation from Anders Wiklöf. The association’s parent organisation is Ålands Brand- och Räddningsförbund r.f. (Åland Fire and Rescue Association), which brings together the volunteer fire brigades of the province.
In the new, smaller space a selection of the objects is shown, with priority given to the oldest. Individual objects and vehicles are also displayed at events such as Blåljusdagen.
