About the museum

The artist's home of Enni Id (1904–1992), a naive and self-taught (ITE) artist from Padasjoki, is located in the village of Seitniemi along Kellosalmentie. Enni Id was born on a leasehold farm of Saksala Manor in Padasjoki and began painting at the age of 62, after being widowed for the second time. Her works have been presented, among other places, at the Helsinki Art Hall's summer exhibition of naive artists in 1973.

The house is decorated with paintings from floor to ceiling and features the artist's favourite subjects, such as cats and sprawling plants. The entire home is a total work of art. The artist's home is maintained by the Kellosalmi-Seitniemi-Virmala village association, which holds events and workshops in the summer. A café operates in the courtyard. Preserving Enni Id's life's work and home was selected as a flagship project of the Päijänne Leader programme for 2013.
