About the museum
The Geonäyttely (geo-exhibition) is an exhibition of the Geological Survey of Finland (GTK) at its Espoo office in Otaniemi. It gives a broad picture of geology, tells of the origin of the Earth and its phenomena, of the social significance of geology and of the work of GTK.
The exhibition’s geological samples relate to the periodic table of elements, to the history of Finnish geology and mining, and to everyday products. The history of Finnish geology and its influence on the landscape and on modern life can be explored on a giant tablet. The renewed exhibition shows the many ways in which today’s society depends on nature.
