About the museum
The Honkajoen kotiseutumuseo was founded in 1958 in a disused loan storehouse on the Honkajoki market square. The museum has an extensive collection of peasant objects, most of which were handmade in Honkajoki or the surrounding area.
The objects relate to household, agriculture and livestock keeping, as well as traditional men’s and women’s crafts, and range from the 18th century to the late 20th century. The mill museum stands in its original location on the bank of the rapids. The museum belongs to the Kankaanpää City Museum.
