About the museum
The Kallio Computer Museum was established at the request of the public: visitors kept asking where the I Love 8-bit exhibitions could be seen when they were not on loan. The first I Love 8-bit exhibition was on display at the Helsinki Museum of Technology in 2022.
The exhibition space on Alppikatu opened on 14 December 2024. Initially it was due to close on 31 March 2025, but operations have continued. The museum is private, non-profit and run by volunteers, and it receives no public support: its activities are financed by admission tickets, private events and donations.
