About the museum
The Keuruu museum is a professionally run museum that receives state grants and works as both an art and a cultural history museum. From 1 January 2026 the museum’s operations were transferred from the Keuruun museosäätiö (Keuruu Museum Foundation) to the City of Keuruu. Previously the museum operated in the historic Kamana stone cowshed, which now houses premises of the Keuruu parish.
New renovated premises at Keskusaukio 3 were completed at the end of May 2026, and operations there began with the museum’s opening on 18 June 2026. The museum mainly holds exhibitions in its main exhibition space; smaller exhibitions are shown, for example, in the lobby gallery of the Lehtiniemi service centre and in the Kimara cultural centre.
Through the museum, guided tours of the churches of Keuruu and Pihlajavesi and of local cultural history sites can be booked. The Santun talo artist residency is also connected to the museum, and the museum looks after collections, donations and information requests.
