About the museum

Serlachius Pääkonttori (Serlachius Head Office) is the former head office of G. A. Serlachius Oy in the centre of Mänttä. The classicist-functionalist building was designed by the architect brothers Valter and Bertel Jung and completed in 1934. The house served as the administrative building of the paper company before it became a museum.

The head office has operated as a museum since 2003. It belongs to the Serlachius museums maintained by the Gösta Serlachius Art Foundation, and one admission ticket is also valid at Serlachius Kartano (Serlachius Manor).

The head office’s collections relate mainly to G. A. Serlachius Oy and the history of Mänttä. They include documents, objects, photographs, drawings and sound recordings. The permanent exhibition tells of the Serlachius family as patrons of the arts, as directors of the paper company and as builders of the Mänttä community.
