About the museum
The Kuopio car museum is located in an old brick building at the corner of Hannes Kolehmaisenkatu and Puistokatu, near the swimming and ice hall. The museum arose from a long-held dream of local car enthusiasts and was realised through voluntary work with the support of sponsors. It is run by a group of Kuopio car enthusiasts.
The collection includes several cars, many of which are roadworthy. The selection on display changes over time, and some of the cars are driven from time to time. The museum also has a motorcycle and car-related objects, such as taximeters and number plates.
