Oulun Automuseo

About the museum

The Oulun Automuseo has operated at its present location south of Oulu, in the Kiviniemi district, since 1986. The museum is run by Oulun Seudun Mobilistit ry.

The museum building was designed by architect Risto Syväniemi and building engineer Heikki Syväniemi, and represents high-quality Finnish timber construction. The building takes its shape from the spoked wheel of a Ford Model A: it has a wheel hub and spokes, and the entrance is at the position of the valve. The exterior of the building is protected in the local detailed plan.

The museum has more than 60 vehicles, the oldest from the 1910s. Included are cars, motorcycles, various engines, scale models, photographs and literature. The Lounaskahvila Biili (lunch café) also operates in the museum premises.

Permanent exhibition

• Oulun Automuseon kokoelma – The exhibition includes more than 60 vehicles from the 1910s onwards, as well as machines, engines, scale models, photographs and literature.
