About the museum
Glims is an old farm in the Karvasmäki village of Bembölä in Espoo. The first farmer known by name was Peder Nilsson in 1540, and the farm operated as a farm until the early 20th century. Glims also served as a coaching inn (kestikievari) in the 18th and 19th centuries.
The oldest buildings, the log barn (luhtiaitta) and the main house, date from the 18th century. The Lönnberg family owned the farm from 1807 to 1950. The area was turned into a museum in 1958, and the museum grounds contain eleven original buildings still standing in their original locations.
The house museum belongs to KAMU Espoo City Museum. The museum holds craft demonstrations, guided tours and seasonal events, and in summer the farm's animals can be seen in the yard. The main building houses the museum shop, and there is a café in the lower yard.

Not all areas are accessible, as the museum buildings date from the 19th century and have steps and thresholds. A wheelchair or pram can reach the tupa building via a movable ramp; an electric wheelchair can only reach the vestibule of the tupa building. The main building has steps. The yard area is lawn and gravel path, and the entrance route to the lower yard is rather steep. There is an accessible toilet in the museum area. There is no induction loop. Information signs are placed at the buildings, and the museum can also be explored with a mobile guide and an online exhibition.
