About the museum
The Manoir de Squividan in Clohars-Fouesnant was the home and studio of the painters Émile Simon (1890–1976) and Madeleine Fié-Fieux (1897–1995) during the second half of the 20th century. Both artists, committed to figurative painting, light and local traditions, worked there for decades, surrounded by a landscaped park of more than two hectares.
The estate was bequeathed to the Finistère Département in 1995. It is now run by the public body Domaines et Musées départementaux du Finistère and has been open to the public since 2009.
Every summer, from June to September, an exhibition presents a selection of works by the two painters, with a theme that changes each year, and the park can be visited freely. In 2026 the theme is gastronomy, linked to an exhibition at the Musée départemental breton. Concerts of traditional music also take place in front of the manor in July and August.
