About the museum
The museum is housed in an 18th-century mansion in the centre of the historic village of Verdun-Ciel, in the commune of Verdun-sur-le-Doubs. It is part of the network of sites of the Burgundy Bresse Ecomuseum.
The exhibition traces the long history of cereal growing, milling and bread-making, with reconstructions. A bakehouse (fournil) bakes breads and brioches on site, which visitors can taste during the events. Part of the collection is also presented online on Google Arts & Culture.
