About the museum
The museum is run by the association L'Aventure Peugeot Citroën DS, which looks after the brand's heritage. It opened in Sochaux in 1988, in a building constructed near the Stade Auguste-Bonal on the site of a former brewery.
The exhibition spaces have been enlarged several times, notably in the early 2000s and again in 2010 for the 200th anniversary of the family company. The route tells more than two centuries of industrial history, from the beginnings of industry in the Pays de Montbéliard to the modern automobile.
The collection includes around 130 vehicles on public display, among them sports cars and prototypes, as well as some fifty bicycles and motorcycles. There are also more than 1,500 branded objects: tools, coffee grinders, sewing machines, household appliances and radios.
The site also has a brasserie and a shop. The Citroën and DS collection is housed at another site run by the association.
