About the museum
The Maison de l’Épagneul Breton is a municipal facility in Callac, in the Côtes-d’Armor. It tells a shared story of more than a hundred years between the town and the Épagneul Breton, a dog now found all over the world.
The permanent route draws on objects, drawings, paintings, photographs, videos and a period film. It places the breed in its cradle, the Argoat, and also shows, through a detour into genetics, how selection creates and maintains a breed. A 3D animation helps visitors understand the Épagneul Breton standard.
The museum also presents works by the animal sculptor Richard Fath (plasters and bronzes). The town also holds temporary exhibitions by artists throughout the year.
