About the museum

The museum is located in the center of the village of Monieux in Vaucluse and is devoted to the “black diamond” of Ventoux, the black truffle also called rabasse.

The visit explains where truffles come from, how they are harvested and how they are used. It features a multisensory table where visitors can touch and smell the truffle, as well as film screenings, photographs and objects related to truffle cultivation. Display cases present truffle hunting (cavage) and the brotherhoods, and a section displays paintings by the Provençal artist Daniel Mathieu. A shop sells truffle products, books and wines.
