About the museum
The museum grew out of local grassroots initiatives and reflects residents' attachment to their area. It holds the Musée de France label.
Its collections cover the local history of the Vergy family, local archaeology and the ethnology of the Hautes-Côtes: costumes, housing, furniture, crafts and tools. They also include plants and flowers of the Hautes-Côtes and an old holding of printed works and sheet music.
A literary group recalls the legend of Vergy: the poem La Châtelaine de Vergi, dating from around 1240, the tragedy Gabrielle de Vergy by De Belloy (1770), and memories of Alphonse de Lamartine.
