About the museum
The Paris chocolate museum opened in 2010 on the boulevard de Bonne Nouvelle in the 10th arrondissement, on the site of a former dancing hall. It belongs to the Choco-Story network, whose first museum was founded in Bruges, and it is run by a private company headquartered in the building.
The route traces more than 4,000 years of cacao history, from the pre-Columbian civilisations of Central America to the arrival of chocolate in Europe and its production today. Tastings punctuate the visit, and a virtual demonstration presents the work of three chocolatiers who have been awarded the title of Meilleur Ouvrier de France.
Part of the museum is devoted to chocolate sculptures, including a large piece almost three metres high. The museum also offers chocolate-making workshops for children and adults, children's birthday parties and guided tours for groups.
