About the museum

The Erlebnismuseum "Mensch und Landschaft" (People and Landscape experience museum) is the information center of the Saar-Hunsrück Nature Park and is located in Hermeskeil, where the Naturpark e. V. also has its office. The nature park itself has existed since 1980 and extends across parts of Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland.

The exhibition guides visitors through the natural and cultural landscape of the region in a multimedia and interactive way. A large panoramic map with a screen presents sights and leisure offers between the Saar, Mosel, Nahe, Ruwer and Hunsrück; a "talking apple tree" tells about life in an orchard meadow, and further stations show the habitats of forest and water. The house has been awarded for its accessible experience exhibition and is recognized as an out-of-school learning venue.

The grounds include a park with a touch trail and an open-air classroom.
