About the museum
The Alte Dreschschuppen (old threshing shed) was for generations a central gathering place for the village community of Brücken: residents brought their grain here. At the beginning of the 20th century, a steam-powered threshing machine stood in the building.
In the 19th century, a winnowing machine cleaned the threshed grain of chaff, weed seeds and damaged kernels before it was taken to the mill for grinding. Farmers from the surrounding area contributed agricultural tools to the village museum, with which the individual steps of the grain harvest can be traced.
Today the barn, with its bar counter, is also a popular venue for festivities of the village community.
