About the museum
The German Construction Machinery Model Museum was founded in 1989 by the construction company Walter Feickert GmbH in the Weilburg district of Gaudernbach. It grew out of a private collection that expanded through donations from the construction machinery industry and private supporters; their backing made it possible to set up the exhibition.
The models are arranged by machine type and show the variety of construction technology. Numerous building sites for building and civil engineering are shown in detailed replicas, including large models at a scale of 1:20. Three panoramas also invite younger visitors to look. Two original, restored construction machines complement the model collection.
The museum aims to convey the joy of building and to make visible an economic sector that is important to the economy but often receives little public attention. It is run by the Feickert construction group. Admission is free, and visits require telephone registration.
