About the museum

The Museum Barockscheune is housed in a barn built in 1714 of shell limestone, which has been comprehensively renovated since 2003. It shows the history, landscape and culture of the Mainschleife (Main loop).

The permanent exhibition spans two upper floors and the basement. Its themes are prehistory, everyday life, town history and viticulture. The central object is the Salbuch (estate register) of town clerk Niklas Brobst from 1504.

Temporary exhibitions, readings and concerts take place on the ground floor. Since 2006 there has also been a children's tour with the town clerk.
