About the museum
The Harlekinäum in Wiesbaden-Erbenheim is a museum of humor and laughter that grew out of the work of Michael Berger, Ute Berger, and Stelli Banana. For more than three decades, the three have released more than 60 witty products a year, ranging from a cup with an inside handle to collectible condoms.
In eight rooms this has become a walk-through world of humor and the surreal: visitors see dancing shelves, walk through a giant cheese, and discover a jungle bath. The house also includes exhibition spaces for art, such as installations about the onion. On request, the founder personally leads visitors through the rooms.
In 2006 the house was named one of the "365 Orte im Land der Ideen". According to the website, the museum is currently closed, and visit appointments are not being offered.
