About the museum
The Heimatmuseum in Grötzingen, a district of Aichtal, is lovingly furnished and tells visitors about the village and its residents. One focus is on prehistory and early history: excavation finds trace the settlement from around 5000 BC to the 15th century, while also telling a piece of town history.
Insights into earlier life are provided by the Bauernstube (farmhouse parlor) with living, sleeping and dining areas, and by tools from farming and crafts, including implements for flax processing. The museum is closed during school holidays.
