About the museum
The museum opened in 1988. It is based on a private collection that now belongs to the municipality of Neckartenzlingen and is displayed in the Melchior-Festhalle (hall).
On display are fossils and minerals from Württemberg, minerals from the Franconian and Swabian Jura, and minerals from the Black Forest and the area around Idar-Oberstein. The municipality also has a geological educational trail.
