About the museum
The Heimatmuseum Arneburg is on Breite Straße in the old town of the Elbe town of Arneburg, in a building that also houses the tourist information, the town council chamber, a senior and youth club, and the mayor's office. It offers insight into the regional history and industrial development of the town and provides information on the St. George town church with its Baroque altar.
Under the title “Arneburger Heimatmuseum 2.0” the building was modernized with funding; the exhibition can now also be explored in a virtual 360-degree tour on the town's website. In the town, the Arneburger Kultur- und Heimatverein (Arneburg culture and local heritage association) also works, dedicated to researching and archiving the town's history of more than a thousand years.
