About the museum
The museum has been located in the attic of Rauschenberg's historic town hall since the 1960s. From 2017 the former local history museum was redesigned as a town museum, which tells the story of the medieval small town on the edge of the Burgwald through a selection of exhibits staged especially for children.
After extensive cataloguing and renovation work, the museum is accessible again. The climb up the town hall tower is also worthwhile: from there you look out over the town's streets and lanes, up to the Schlossberg with its church and the surrounding fields. The town of Rauschenberg is the sponsor; on the town's behalf, the museum is looked after by the Kultur- und Verschönerungsverein (culture and beautification association).
