About the museum
The Heimatstube is in the former school hall of the Oberotterbach school building, erected in 1829. Through exhibits and an extensive photo exhibition, it conveys village life in the southern Palatinate in earlier times.
The topics include farm life, crafts, club life, festivals and well-known personalities of the village, as well as a school corner. A large part is devoted to the period from 1900 to the 1950s, including the war years with evacuations; the Westwall (Siegfried Line) is documented in detail.
Archaeological finds and a model of Guttenberg Castle, as well as material on the Heidenbrunnen, show the village's older history, as do the village's mills. A former church clock of the Protestant church from 1847 is on display together with a working model.
