About the museum
The Heimatmuseum in Droyßig is run by the local heritage association, which is devoted to preserving local history and customs. The Heimatstube is housed in rooms on the market square, where the municipal administration also has its offices.
The collection is small and cared for by volunteers, so there are no fixed opening hours. Anyone who wants to see the museum should call the association contacts in advance to register.
Besides running the museum, the association offers guided tours of the castle grounds and the town, and it takes part in events such as the Castle Festival (Schlossfest), which takes place on the second weekend in June each year.
