Kunst Galerie Fürth
Municipal art gallery (Kunsthalle) on Fürth's Königsplatz with four to five exhibitions of contemporary art per year.
About the museum
The kunst galerie fürth goes back to an initiative of the then head of cultural affairs, the mayor, and the artists' association Kulturring C. It opened in the fall of 2002 in the former Sparkasse building on Königsplatz; with it, Fürth received a municipal Kunsthalle for the first time.
The gallery has no permanent exhibition of its own but shows several solo, group, and thematic exhibitions each year with positions in contemporary art. Artists from the region are featured as well as national and international names; occasionally art-historical shows complement the program.
Each exhibition is accompanied by tours, artist talks, and an outreach program for daycare centers, schools, families, and older people. A support circle (Förderkreis) backs the work and awards an audience prize every year. For some years the gallery has also used its window front for the series "Display," visible from outside.
