First institutional solo exhibition by Berlin painter Lunita-July Dorn (born 1999), with large-format paintings and drawings in which she appears as an imaginary protagonist between memory and fantasy.
About the museum
Stage designer, director and painter Achim Freyer founded the Achim Freyer Stiftung in 2009 in his home and studio building in Berlin-Lichterfelde. The listed half-timbered house from 1893 was converted into the Kunsthaus and has been open to the public since around 2012/13.
At the center is Freyer's collection of more than 2,300 works from the 19th to the 21st century. It brings together works from East and West, art brut, outsider art and naive art. The pictures hang on three floors in the dense Petersburg hanging style, so that well-known names hang next to unknown artists. The house's gallery also hosts changing exhibitions and events. The Kunsthaus is supported, among others, by the Berlin Senate Department for Culture.
