Lindigtmühle

About the museum

The Lindigtmühle lies picturesquely outside the village of Linda, next to the Lindenvorwerk, and is the only water mill still preserved in the Kohrener Land. Its simple mill building with an overshot water wheel is dated to around 1800; the miller's house has a jettied upper floor.

As a technical monument, the mill is fully functional. The site also includes a miller's apprentices' room (Müllerburschenkammer) and a bakehouse (Backhaus), which visitors get to know on a guided tour.

The mill museum is looked after by the Mühlenverein Lindigtmühle-Lindenvorwerk und Umgebung. It is open for viewing on Sundays from April to October; groups and school classes of 15 or more people can also come outside these times. Registration is through the neighboring Gaststätte Lindenvorwerk.
