About the museum
The collection at the upper freight yard in Falkenberg/Elster is the second collection of a private railway enthusiast, who also runs the Dampflok-Museum in Hermeskeil in Rhineland-Palatinate. It holds locomotives of various classes, mostly from the stock of the Deutsche Reichsbahn.
The grounds are largely left in their natural state; trees and bushes grow around the parked locomotives. The collection can usually be visited only on special days, above all at Pentecost.
Highlights
- Steam, diesel and electric locomotives of various classes
- Parked locomotives on the outdoor grounds
- Usually open only at Pentecost
