About the museum
Since 1998 the Internationale Jugendbibliothek (International Youth Library) has been showing a literary museum on Michael Ende in the attic of Blutenburg Castle. The library holds a partial estate of the author, on which the exhibition is built.
The exhibition includes all book editions, namely 30 titles in more than 40 languages, plus typescripts, drawings, letters and photographs. In addition there are illustrations by well-known graphic artists for Ende's picture-book texts, as well as personal belongings, furniture and his working library.
The museum belongs to the Stiftung Internationale Jugendbibliothek, which is housed in the castle. During a holiday workshop, children created their own audio guide through the exhibition together with a radio editor and a trainee.
