About the museum
The museum is devoted to the Roman settlement of Abodiacum near Epfach on the Via Claudia. A timeline and texts trace the history of the place from around 14 BC to about AD 390.
Models of Roman buildings, such as a bath complex and fortifications, as well as more than a hundred tin figures show scenes from everyday life. There is also a life-size legionary in full equipment, replicas and original finds such as pottery, weapons and household items. A bust and inscribed stones commemorate the Roman official Claudius Paternus Clementianus.
The museum is run by the municipality of Denklingen.
