About the museum
The local history museum on the Museumshof in Gescher invites visitors on a journey into the rural way of life and work of West Münsterland about a hundred years ago. The Heimatverein Gescher e. V. (local heritage society) looks after the farm complex and the collections on a volunteer basis.
The complex includes a farmhouse with a threshing floor, a granary, two barns, a carriage house, a Muuseschoppe, a bake house, a beehive area, as well as a farm garden and a herb garden. Historic tools, implements, and everyday objects show daily life, such as grain cultivation, food preservation, and linen production. Preserved workshops recall clog makers and coopers.
