About the museum
The museum began as the private collection of the collector Thomas Merbt, who calls it his sixth museum that he has designed himself. The rooms in the Dreikaiserhaus were renovated in eleven months with helpers; the first museum day was October 5, 2022.
The museum displays exhibits from two centuries of European and American history, from the era of Frederick the Great and the Seven Years' War through Napoleon, the Battle of the Nations of 1813, and Waterloo, to the founding of the German Empire in 1871. In addition, there is an exhibition on the Native Americans of North America.
