About the museum

The brewery museum belongs to the Neumarkter Glossnerbräu, a family business that has been brewing beer for 14 generations since 1574. It is in the cellar of the Neumarkter Bräustübl (brewery tavern) on Schwesterhausgasse.

The rooms lie in the original foundations of Neumarkt's inner and outer city walls, which are more than 800 years old and give the museum a special atmosphere. On display are historical equipment and tools, along with letters and documents that tell of the eventful life of a long-established brewery. The collection spans from the wooden brewing vat to the mechanized bottling plant and shows how beer production has changed.
