About the museum
Stellwerk West was built in 1879 and was in operation for more than a century. It stands in Eppingen at a level crossing and roundabout on Heilbronner Straße and is today a protected cultural monument and a railway technology heritage site.
The installations of the mechanical signal box are still fully intact, from the switch and signal levers and the locking box to the station and section block. Visitors can trace how train traffic was technically secured in earlier times. The building is opened by the Heimatfreunde Eppingen (local heritage friends).
