About the museum
Since 2007, the Sudeten German Heimat Collection in Gundelfingen an der Donau has displayed exhibits on the culture and customs of the Sudeten Germans in a former bank building.
The collection comprises handicrafts, art and everyday objects from various regions of Bohemia, Moravia and Moravian Silesia, as well as numerous books, documents and pictures. An extensive documentation deals with expulsion and new beginnings; a stove from the first kitchen fittings after the expulsion stands for the daily life of those who arrived. The Gurtendorf Archive is also housed in the building.
