About the museum
The Uhrenmuseum Bad Iburg is a small private museum in the center of the spa town at the edge of the Teutoburg Forest. It shows the personal collection of Peter Taschenmacher, who explains the sometimes curious pieces to guests himself. The range runs from large church tower clocks through longcase clocks to small pocket and wristwatches, and thus traces the history of watchmaking.
A special eye-catcher is the facade: an oversized pocket watch hangs outside the house and is listed in the Guinness Book of Records. Since 2009, a wristwatch about four meters long has also been part of the display; it is considered the largest wristwatch in Germany. The museum lies directly on the Hermannsweg.
