About the museum
The Velden local history museum has existed since 2009 and is run by the association “Velden – einst und jetzt e.V.”. It sees itself as a place of memory where Velden’s history is collected and preserved by Veldeners, for Veldeners.
The permanent exhibition is housed in the attic of the former station building. Three focal points shape the collection: sacred art and objects of faith, everyday life in the kitchen and household, and crafts and work with original tools. There are also records of the parish and local history. A special feature is a collection of memorial cards (Sterbebilder) reaching back to 1880.
