About the museum
The Wachsmuseum is housed in the factory rooms of the Morsa Wachswarenfabrik in Krumbach and is privately run. The company belongs to the Sallinger family, who according to their own account have practiced the wax chandler's trade since 1647. This family history is at the heart of the exhibition.
On display are around 100 artfully crafted wax figures and historical wooden molds. They illustrate the work of wax chandlers, Lebzelter and mead makers since the 16th century and also bear witness to everyday life, religious life and old customs.
