About the museum
The Zoller-Hof brewery founded the museum in 2008 in its old production site in Sigmaringen. The private collector Adolf Mattes laid the foundation; the brewery purchased further pieces or received them from lenders. This created one of the most extensive collections on the Nuremberg motorcycle brand Zündapp.
The museum is now run by the Fürst von Hohenzollern company group and has moved into the historic Marstall near Hohenzollern Castle. The building once served as the princes' riding stables, later as an electrical shop with a carpentry workshop and as a retail space; today a restaurant occupies the ground floor and the newly designed exhibition the upper floor.
On more than 700 square metres, it tells the story of the brand from its founding in 1917 to its end in 1984: motorcycles, scooters and mopeds, the Janus microcar, unrestored barn finds, as well as spare parts, clothing and advertising materials. Thematic sections, digital object labels and an audio guide open up the collection; items from the brewery recall the museum's beginnings.
