About the museum
The Archaeological Museum of Lykosoura was founded at the end of the 19th century with funds from the Archaeological Society at Athens. It houses part of the finds from the neighbouring sanctuary of Despoina, an Arcadian deity who is probably identified with Persephone, as well as from the wider area of Lykosoura, the most sacred city of the Arcadians.
Entry to the museum is free. The archaeological site of the sanctuary and the museum have the same opening hours.
