About the museum
The Trikoupis Family Museum is housed in a two-storey stone mansion built in the 1850s in the St Spyridon neighbourhood of Mesolongi. The family's original house, where Spyridon Trikoupis and his son Charilaos Trikoupis lived among others, had suffered damage, and the present building was erected after it. The museum belongs to the cultural infrastructure of the Municipality of the Sacred City of Mesolongi.
The site displays heirlooms of the family, personal objects and photographs. Aspects of the wide-ranging work of Charilaos Trikoupis are presented with digital copies of documents, photographs and prints. On the first floor, the rooms of a 19th-century urban home have been arranged, with bedrooms, a dining room and studies decorated with portraits, furniture and objects of the family.
