About the museum
The prehistoric settlement of Thermi lies in one of the most fertile valleys of Lesbos and had close trade links with Troy on the opposite Asia Minor coast. During the Bronze Age it developed from a small unfortified settlement into an organised town: at the height of its prosperity it acquired a fortification and a town plan with building blocks, streets and small open spaces.
