About the museum

The Borsos Miklós Emléklakás (Borsos Miklós Memorial Flat) is on the second floor of a house of medieval origin at 6 Úri utca. The sculptor Borsos Miklós spent the last twelve years of his life here; after his death in 1990, his wife, Kéry Ilona, lived in the flat for more than a decade.

Kéry Ilona died in 2001, and in accordance with her last wishes the flat became a memorial flat. The furnishings include the family’s furniture and everyday objects, among them Renaissance chairs bought by the artist in Florence, a Transylvanian travelling chest and a hand-knotted Persian carpet.

The artist’s drawings, graphic works and small sculptures can also be seen in the flat, for example the plaster sculpture Primavera.
