About the museum
In spring 1988 the town gave a renovated studio house to the painter Égerházi Imre, who was born in Hajdúhadház. The building and its courtyard became a meeting and working place for well-known painters and sculptors, and the artist worked here regularly until his death in 2001.
In 2007 the building was renovated and turned into a memorial house, and the permanent exhibition set up inside has been open to visitors since then. It presents nearly one hundred paintings, two mosaics and the painter's personal objects.
