About the museum
Gorka Géza played a pioneering role in renewing Hungarian ceramic art; through his work, Hungarian ceramics rose to European standards and became known around the world. Nature stood at the centre of his art; he recalled the memory of habán (Habaner) ceramics while experimenting with the new techniques of the 20th century, following the oldest, functional directions of ceramics.
The permanent exhibition in the museum shows ceramics by Gorka Géza, his daughter Gorka Lívia and his grandson Gorka-Focht Géza. Gorka Lívia's works are on the upper floor; the larger works, such as the great stone disc Harmónia and the spheres Androméda and Föld, are kept by the museum. The light-coloured ceramics can also be seen in the garden, where they grow out of the ground like large flowers.
